Yuechi County plans to complete more than 1 million mu of grain planting area in Da Chun.

Recently, Yuechi County, Guang ‘an City, Sichuan Province, based on the word "early", made a fuss about the early implementation of the area, the early storage of agricultural materials and the early service of technology, and solidly promoted the work of preparing for spring ploughing.

In terms of area implementation, Yuechi County has made great efforts to ensure the planting area through the restoration of new cultivated land, the retreat of inefficient forest (garden) and the promotion of multiple cropping model. County, town and village are linked together to quickly refine the planting plan and seedling area of Da Chun and implement it to households and fields. According to the plan, in 2025, the county plans to complete Da Chun’s grain planting area of 1,006,300 mu and cash crop planting area of 301,600 mu.

In terms of agricultural resources reserve, Yuechi County plans ahead of time, actively organizes and dispatches all kinds of spring ploughing production materials such as seeds, fertilizers, agricultural films and pesticides, and provides convenient services for farmers in various ways, such as agricultural resources entering villages and households, direct sales of agricultural resources enterprises to households, and door-to-door delivery of dealers. At present, the county has reserved 890 tons of "two miscellaneous" varieties (rice and corn), 64,000 tons of chemical fertilizer, 1,900 tons of agricultural film and 460 tons of pesticides, providing sufficient material guarantee for spring ploughing production.

In the field of technical services, Yuechi County has set up 27 technical teams for Baoxiang work, providing full coverage technical services and training to 27 townships (streets) in the county, sinking technical force to the front line of agricultural production, and ensuring that key technologies are accurately implemented to farmers and new agricultural business entities. Up to now, the county has carried out more than 60 agricultural technology trainings in Da Chun, with more than 4,000 trainees and distributed more than 20,000 technical materials, which has effectively improved farmers’ scientific planting level.

Through a series of solid and effective measures, Yuechi County has laid a "first move" for spring ploughing, which has consolidated the foundation of food security throughout the year and ensured that food security work takes root. (Wang Taiyi, Jing Liu)
