In recent years, Zhejiang has proposed to build a new computing center in the Yangtze River Delta, and Hangzhou has also issued implementation opinions on accelerating the innovation and development of artificial intelligence industry, encouraging enterprises, universities and third-party institutions to build computing centers that meet the guiding needs.
In September 2023, Qianjiang Century City State-owned Company and Xiaoshan Industrial Investment Group jointly established Xiaoshan Computing Technology, which laid a solid foundation for Xiaoshan to expand its computing power to serve new industries, and also incited Century City to develop the "leverage" of AI industry, and further promoted the construction of AIGC intelligent computing center in Turing town with the new strength of state-owned capital service industry, making computing power the "ecological foundation" for Xiaoshan to develop AI industry.
As the relevant person in charge of Qianjiang Century City said, the development of AI industry requires the joint efforts of government and enterprises. The government sets up a platform, leading enterprises build chains, and upstream and downstream enterprises cooperate to open a new channel for Xiaoshan to run AI track through this "chain" road.
The person in charge of Xiaoshan Computing Technology said: "Our computing power mainly serves small-town start-ups and allows more AI projects to run here."
At present, Xiaoshan has set up a 50-million-yuan "computing voucher" to provide relevant subsidies to enterprises that purchase computing resources through the public computing service platform in Xiaoshan District, of which the maximum subsidy for a single subject can reach 2 million yuan.
In addition to supporting AI enterprises in Turing town, the town AIGC Intelligent Computing Center will also provide customized, advanced, inclusive and comprehensive end-to-end intelligent computing services for enterprises, research institutions and universities in provinces, cities and even the whole country.
It is reported that Xiaoshan computing platform is also blossoming at present. For example, the Computer Innovation Research Institute of Zhejiang University, also located in Turing Town, Qianjiang Century City, also laid out an "AI+" high-performance intelligent computing platform, which was recently shortlisted as one of the top ten computing facilities in Zhejiang in 2023, and was equally recognized as the computing platform of Wuzhen Center of National Supercomputing, Alibaba Cloud Computing and Ningbo Artificial Intelligence Supercomputing Center. In addition, the Hangzhou Intelligent Computing Center of China Telecom, located in Sanjiang Chuangzhi New City, has also been put into operation.
